FAQ
FAQ
-
Permanent makeup, also known as micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic technique that involves the application of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. This technique is used to create long-lasting makeup effects that resemble traditional cosmetics like lip color and eyebrow definition.
The goal of permanent makeup is to enhance and define features, providing a semi-permanent solution for individuals who want to save time on their daily makeup routine or who have difficulty applying traditional makeup due to various reasons such as vision impairment or unsteady hands. The pigments used in permanent makeup are specially formulated for use on the skin and are designed to fade gradually over time.

The level of discomfort experienced during a permanent makeup procedure can vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience minimal discomfort, while others may find it slightly more painful.
At Beauty Blvd, our technician uses topical numbing gel to minimize any potential discomfort. Numbing is applied to the treated area before and during the procedure to help manage any sensations of pain or discomfort.
It's important to discuss any concerns about pain or discomfort with the technician before the procedure so that they can address them and ensure your comfort during the process.

Permanent makeup can indeed look very natural. A consultation is required before any permanent makeup service.
Several techniques & styles allow for more of a natural look such as microblading or powder brows. The artist will take into consideration your anatomy, skin type, and goals when choosing which shape and color will suit you best. You get the overall approval for shape, size, and color.
-
Generally, permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years before requiring a touch-up or refreshment session. It's essential to follow any aftercare instructions provided by your artist to help prolong the longevity of the makeup. However, the longevity can vary depending on several factors:
PIGMENT QUALITY: Higher-quality pigments tend to last longer.
SKIN TYPE: Oily skin may cause the pigment to fade faster compared to dry skin.
PLACEMENT: Areas that are exposed to more sunlight or friction (like lips) may fade faster.
COLOR: Darker colors tend to last longer than lighter colors.
TECHNIQUE: The skill of the technician performing the procedure can affect how long the makeup lasts.
-
The initial procedure generally takes around 2.5-3 hours. This process includes filling out consent forms, taking before and after photos, discussing shape and color, mapping etc. This time may vary depending on the clients desire and the technique performed. Touch up appointments don’t usually require the same amount of time.
-
After your first session, you will want to come back in for a 6-8 week touch-up. This first touch-up is very important and can allow us to touch up any imperfections and do any finishing touches. This touch-up also allows us to darken your brows if you would like. After that, touch-ups are up to you.
We recommend coming every 1-3 years for touch-ups to maintain your shape and color.
Everyone is different with their skin, lifestyle, etc. To achieve best results, it is highly recommended to follow all aftercare instructions provided by your artist.
-
All cover ups/ corrections are decided on an individual basis. Clients with previous work must schedule a consultation and send in clear photos of their brows or lips.
Correction clients will be charged the same price as a new client regardless of previous work.

PMU AFTER CARE
Absorb (Day of)
After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue or unscented baby wipe to absorb excess lymph fluid.
Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped.
Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.
Wash (Days 1-7)

Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.
To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue.
DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic ,or AHA), or exfoliants
Moisturize & hydrate
Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of Tina Davies Aftercare 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.
